About the Book

This story is a fictional narrative about a girl named Sara who shared her experiences: through Elementary School; her obsession with the color pink, being bullied, and two of her most memorable experiences: winning the Spelling Bee Competition and her Sixth Grade Promotion Exercises.

About the Author

Patricia Maynard has been a professional educator for more than twenty-five years. She is very passionate about teaching and learning. She believes that all children can learn. She has taught all the primary grades, from Kindergarten to Sixth. She was recognized as an outstanding teacher in the St. Thomas/ St. John School District. She was also honored for her contributions to educating the children of the Virgin Islands. She has made presentations at various Professional Workshops and Organizations, such as the American Federation of Teachers Mini Quest, Lockhart Elementary School Professional Day, and a Motivational Presentation to the Wesley Methodist Cotillion Contestant. She is also the author of the book Why Is My Dad Mad At Me. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, a Master of Arts in School Administration, Master’s in Public Administration and a Curriculum Specialist Degree. She is certified as a Highly Qualified Teacher and also has certification as an Assistant Principal. Presently she is an Assistant Principal at the Joseph Gomez Elementary School in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
