Soul Survivor
So far I’ve survived all obstacles my soul’s ever encountered!
I’ve overcome situations
although ridiculed by countless doubters…
it’s hard trying to get employment
once you’ve been expelled from high school;
now I have my General Education Diploma
so I’m no longer my father’s fool.
I’m still maintaining
even though I’ve never met my ‘first born child’…
been incarcerated for fifteen years
yet, leading a mentally liberated lifestyle… I’ve taken a jagged edge
to my back
for a reputation that doesn’t even exist; also teased my jugular vein
with a sharp razor, for a relationship that really didn’t exist
a family member I loved dearly, remained still 9 Fishkill Glen Dr

the funny thing is
I was cut for saving him from getting fl at lined on his back!
Hey, I’m a soul survivor,
so I don’t need to place any blame…
I just have to deal with the fact
things will never be the same…
I’m enduring the disappointment of earning
two hundred 40 dollars a year;
when I could’ve been earn-n one hundred and fi fty thousand dollars,
with a career!
I’ve also survived self-inflicted stress
because of the things I could’ve had;
or how about surviving the abuse my mom received from my dad?!
I remember my wife’s face
the morning I got caught hiding in her parent’s closet…
this was before we were married
a hilarious mental bank deposit…
I’m still surviving both of my father’s parents passing;
and full of anger
from these “correctional officers” always harassing!
I’ve contemplated the idea of just giving up… but I don’t want any
part of the devil’s cup…
plus,
how could I be a survivor if I would have committed suicide?
How would I love my family forever
if I would’ve died?
I survived looking a mother in her eyes
knowing who killed her only son;
but it doesn’t feel right
unless she survives the death of her beloved one!
She would help me survive
if she told me how I could gain her forgiveness
as Jehovah is my witness,
my heart possesses sincere repentance!
I can’t even imagine how she survives
in the mist of her son’s absence… I’m sorry!
