Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Sex is a gift from God - Sex is a gift from God. It is designed for a man and woman who are in a committed marriage that glorifies Him. Sexual union is God’s plan to initiate physical and emotional unity in marriage. In Genesis 2:24, it states, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” Also, God created sex for us to bear children who will expand His image here on earth. In Genesis 1:28, it states, “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.” Since God is the creator of sex, we should consult Him concerning how sex should be used. He knows what’s best for us because He created sex.
Our bodies belong to God – Society teaches us that it is okay to have sex as long as both persons agree to do so. Many people believe that we can do whatever we please with our bodies. As Christians, we must do whatever pleases God. We believe that our bodies belong to Him. In 1 Corinthians 6:13, it states, “ …..The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” God wants us to honor Him with our bodies. It is His will for us to live a life of purity. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3, it states, “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality.”
Sex can hurt our fellowship with God - Whenever we use sex in a sinful way, it hurts our fellowship with God. In 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8, it states, “For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit. ” Furthermore, whenever we encourage other people to commit sexual sin with us, it hurts their fellowship with God too. In 1 Thessalonians 4:6, it states, “and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister.” We never want to be a stumbling block for others. Our actions should drive people closer to God not push them further away.

Prayer
Lord, I believe that my body belongs to You. Help me to only use my body in a way that is pleasing to You. Since You are the creator of sex, You know what is best for me. Enable me to live a life of purity and stay away from sexual sin.
