Lydia sipped wine as she looked up at the ceiling. Right up there, she thought. Right up there is the solution to my problem. On the other side of the ceiling is her lab and if i can get into it and get the analysis, I can write my own ticket. As she stared, she wondered if it would make sense to smash a hole in the ceiling, go up and take what she needed Then she realized how stupid that would be. There would be no way to explain a beak-in through her apartment ceiling and what's more, Gert would realize there was nothing of value in the lab to anyone except Lydia.
The original idea was better. Get a thief to break into the lab, take the formula and destroy everything. The more it looked like a neighborhood robbery and vandal trashing, the better. Yes, she thought, it should look like a bunch of crazies broke in, destroyed all the equipment and turned everything moveable upside down. Empty the files and burn every scarp. With a big enough fire no one, not even Gert could tell what was missing. It wouldn't be hard. It just depended on the burglar. Dennis had to provide a name. He had to come through on this.

Meanwhile, Lydia Cornell, a beautiful advertising executive, wants control of the perfume certain it will be her key to power and financial success. Driven by their ambitions and conflicting agendas, Lehman and Cornell clash, and their struggle for control of the perfume’s secret ingredient and power endangers those they know and love.

Norman Isaacson is a retired professor from Lehman College, City University of New York. He divides his time as a volunteer for several local organizations and as a writer. He and his wife, Susan, live in Upstate New York. He is also the author of Leo Flower.
