About the Book
Spit and Spirit is a collection of poems that celebrate life. It contains poems that sing of our shared experiences as human beings. The poems in this book are about people we all know in one way or another, about the natural world that we all share, about the art of poetry that lives in every human heart and excites every human mind, and about the Spirit that breathes fire and life into every living being.
Spit and Spirit is the score of the spit of everyday life and the Spirit of that wondrous, mystical, interminable life that will always be a mystery and a miracle for every poet-- every human being. It is a collection of poems about sinners and saints, about dirt and divinity, about you and me.
