We waste our mad when our communication process breaks down and one party in the relationship is angered by the action(s) of the other party. However, the other party maybe completely unaware of the issue(s) or the alleged incident that caused the discourse. In the book we examine how couples waste their energy and their mad--going from battle to battle enthusiastically seeking to one-up their mate. In such divisive situations everyone loses. There clearly are signs that we miss in communicating with our partners, the chapter also points out some of those signs and provide some tools we can use; including teaching “I” messages. There are a number of scholars and peer reviewed material on the topic of communication and throughout the book we visit some of them, highlighting some successful techniques and suggestions in outlining the communication process. There is no best solution or one size fits all as it relates to relationships. That is why we provide several suggestive readings throughout the book. In order to maximize relational growth and communication, couples should try different techniques and tools. This process could be fun, rewarding, and educational.
There are also a few key concepts introduced that are extremely useful to understand. Such as “Three L’s of relationship development.” The “Three L” concept will break open the myths about love at first sight and highlight stages in the process. Love does not happen overnight, in a vacuum, or like it is portrayed on the bug or little screen. Love is a process that occurs over time and we examine the process and the pitfall. The book also examines some of the the most important aspects of relationships, which include compatibility, spirituality, friendship, and honesty. This brings everything together in the last chapter with a discussion on Faith and how couples can survive any situation when guided by Faith.

About the Author
Rodney Jenkins earned a bachelor of science degree in business management and a master of management degree from Myers University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is experienced in leading marketing and communications departments and political and issues-based campaigns, as well as developing strategies to address and prevent crises. Rodney, a dedicated husband, father, and man of God, currently lives in Pennsylvania.
