God is Looking for A Woman

Introduction

After receiving the revelation from the Holy Spirit that a woman is just as precious and important to God as a man is and that a woman is created with divine purpose for God’s use, I have been compelled to show some significant callings and to show some significant roles that God used women to play in the Scriptures throughout the Bible. God created everything for a divine purpose. Women have evolved over thousands of years. They have come from being quiet keepers at home who could be passed around from man to man and treated anyway the man wanted to treat them to striving independent successful business women, working women, and in many cases heads of their households with everything and everyone in the house depending on them to make it through their daily lives. I know that in the Black community and other communities through observation, it is clear that women outnumber men in the church; therefore, we can assume that women make themselves more available to God to be used by Him. As a matter of fact, it is often said that the women keep the church in operation because of their willingness and their strong drive to serve the LORD. Many churches do not have enough men that attend church on a consistent basis to do anything.

I discovered after researching and searching through the internet that a vast number of women are unhappy due to restraints placed on them in ministry. I found that this problem exists not only in America but throughout the world. There are several articles and books that have been published about unhappy women in ministry. In my reading, I found that women are unhappy due to the fact that they have been dehumanized by people and mostly husbands who are pastors. Surveys by the Global Pastors Wives Network show that 80 percent of pastors’ wives feel left out and unappreciated by church members. There are organizations that have been established just for pastors’ wives, such as the League of Pastors’ Wives and Other Women in the Ministry. These organizations were formed to minister to the frustrations that women feel dealing with ministry. Also, there are a great numbers of testimonies that have been given by pastors’ wives expressing their feelings of loneliness, verbal abuse and sometimes physical abuse which can come due to verbal abuse. Yet, another survey show that 85 percent of pastors’ wives are depressed. One writer wrote that a number of pastor’s wives sometimes go from active members in the church to wallflowers. In other words, during the beginning of their ministry the pastor’s wife wore many hats. After a few members came and expressed their desire to do what she was doing, the pastor, her husband told her to sit in the church, be seen, look happy, and say nothing no matter what happens. I too have this testimony; therefore, I know what it is like to be a woman who has given her all to a man and his vision in ministry only to caused her much grief and unhappiness. Therefore, I am compelled to write to all the people who use the Word of God and the church to misuse and mistreat women who are called by God for specific divine ministry.
