The Girl in the Closet
I met a girl who had been hiding in a closet for more than twenty years. She simply sat in the dark waiting. What was she waiting for?A miracle? Someone to come along and help open the door to let her out? Someone to turn on the light so it wasn't so dark? Someone to join her so she wasn't alone? I believe she was waiting for all these things. And as part of the slow process of healing, she received each one of them from God.
She was me. At 42 years old, I was meeting myself for the first time. I had put her in the closet years ago and moved on with my life. And I was now in a therapy session trying to get in touch with my inner child. It was guided meditation that led me through the process. And it was the grace of God that allowed me to connect to her...
My story is one of pure grace. I hope as you read on you will gain enlightenment as to how God's grace works in our lives. He has slowly, and sometimes not so slowly, taken me through a process of healing...Now that I am healed I live on God's strength, wisdom, love, and understanding. I now share with you my journey.
