About the Book

Some say that the price we pay for technological advance is our very humanity. As our devices evolve, how much are we willing to sacrifice for convenience? With smart phones, e-mail, text messaging, and social networking, the ancient art of human-to-human communication is falling by the wayside. These “advances” have greatly influenced the way we communicate with each other. Albert Einstein once mused, “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” Is that day already in our past? If so, how can we protect our future communications? In poetry and prose, author R. Nathaniel Dunton explores this modern conundrum. He explores his thoughts on nature, dedication, responsibility, truth, faith, and emotion through stories, essays, and poems. Some reflect his personal, real-life experiences, while others are pure products of the creative process. It is his dream to inspire people to look up from their phones to experience the real world in real time—and then share that experience with another human, face-to-face, as is our gift.

About the Author

R. Nathaniel Dunton is a Baltimore, Maryland, native. He is retired from a successful thirty-nine-year career with the US government. I’m Talking to You is his first professionally published book. An avid traveler, he currently enjoys exploring the many historical locations along America’s Eastern Seaboard. He has one son and three grandchildren.
