Minus Forty Ice Icicles cling to your stubble As you fog up your glasses With steamy sauna breath. The Minus Forty Ice, you see, Is like the dead of the light. Bitter, cold and unrelenting The howling winds call for blood. As you trudge through the snow Tiny snowflakes whip your face With a SNAP, CRACKLE and OUCH! The Mighty Ice drains heat Like a persistent leech To take away life as we know it. The Minus Forty Ice With no colour per se Invisible yet wicked It claims those who go astray. But now you are back With a bluish cough hack. The winter has beaten Blown and went right through you. Yet the house Reverberates the screaming of souls Of the Minus Forty Ice Foiled again in its bid for conquest.

About the Book
Writing poetry for nearly twenty years, Quinn Graw has had a number of poems published in various anthologies. Covering a wide selection of topics including friendship, faith in God, nature and depression come a unique Christian view of human nature. This first book of poetry chronicle the beginning of his writings in the 1990’s.
Starting with the winter season then going into The Spring Rain, many of these works deal with the majestic creations within the four seasons that God has created.. From current events to personal struggles there are a variety of works here to reflect upon the ups and downs of our day to day lives.
About the Author
Quinn Graw, currently a freight receiver at Manning Tru Hardware, has a number of poems published in various anthologies including in the Poetry Institute of Canada’s recent publication – Island Wonders. Being single he resides in his hometown of Manning, Alberta, Canada.
