As the man walks out into the busy and chaotic world on a cold day, he stares at peoples’ feet to avoid eye contact. He knows he is not useful or respected, but he does not care what others think of him. The man cannot change the way things are: he is a victim of fate. As the man meanders through the streets, he reflects on conflict, peace, ignorance, love, the destruction of an organic environment, and a society seemingly obsessed with ideas, wealth, and happiness. But just as he finds a place among the working class, a war rages and soon sends the man down a path he never could have anticipated. About the Author

Richard K was an artist, sculptor, and writer who graduated from the Ontario College of Arts in 1995. He was happiest when he was alone and surrounded by nature, and found the most peace in the mountains of Greece. Richard died on February 20, 2012, at age thirty-eight.
