The Cassandra Syndrome The U.S. stock market crash in 1929 was the harbinger of the ‘Great Depression’. In 1987, the stock market crash was predicted by the Elliott Wave Theorists. These theorists predict that once more, the stock market will crash in 2016, with the DJIA going down to triple digits. Several years ago, the U.S.A. released the ‘Stuxnet’ cyberworm- aimed at deterring the progress of Iran’s nuclear program. However, it was released without a defense; thus it could be used as a boomerang against the USA. This could be reconfigured as a malware- a virus that destroys not only the defense system of the USA, but also currency and financial systems worldwide. Two tourists aid a nuclear physicist whose son was taken hostage. The reluctant amateurs get help from some persons who knows about ‘Stuxnet’. The task however is not simple, as a more complex web of intrigue surfaces. How could they succeed when the enemy is also from within? ** Anne cried, “Help! Help!” Mark dialed on his cell phone for help, and stared at the car license plate. The car sped off; and before it turned the corner, the body was thrown on the pavement. Anne and Janan were not thinking. They both ran toward the body, and panting, they turned it face up. Senawi was bleeding from a head shot as Janan tried to cradle his head on her lap. “My son………..” Senawi died before he could say more. The police sirens jolted them; then Janan turned with grim determination. “We have to go. I don’t trust the police.” “What? But your husband!” Anne was wide-eyed as Janan left Senawi’s body and ran to hide behind a parked car. After a slight hesitation, Anne also hid herself. ** He used the scalpel to cut through the skin, and took out a tiny metal piece. Next, he went toward the instrument tray and got a bigger knife. He then stabbed hard just left of the corpse’s sternal bone, went downward, and cut toward the side. Anne looked frozen; while Luke and Guzman stood speechless.
