Gosh no! The Academy Awards are WAY too long! Please keep it short and to the point. Besides, people are busy! They don’t have time to read a five-page acknowledgement! Start thanking people…and fast. I’ve got a lot going on right now in this world!
Hold on. I’m climbing onto the stage right now, adjusting the microphone.
Get over yourself! You’re sitting at home in your Donald Duck pajamas!

You hope there’s an “everyone!” Please hurry; some Olympic swimmers are calling my name right now and a second baseman just singled in Miami. For some reason he wants special attention. Man, these athletes sometimes!

Well…to start with, wouldn’t I thank myself? After all, I’m the one who wrote it!

No, you don’t! Wherever would you be if I didn’t send you your frozen TV dinners and your coffee with way too much sugar you drink every morning? And don’t get me started on the simple things like keeping our planets in order and keeping the sun from getting carried away and frying you all!

About the Author
Dunn Neugebauer works at a local high school in Sandy Springs, Georgia, where he wears a number of hats including coaching, public relations, sports information, and substitute teaching. He is single and lives with his pet cockroach.
