About the Book

The Gate opens to possibilities. This collection speaks to the nature of the human spirit. The ever-conquering valor that defines us. It presents a passage through to the prospects that await beyond our immediate state and reality of entrapment and confinement. It bears also, the bounties of free thinking attained when psychological walls and chains of inferiority and self-injuring mindsets are crumbled by the constant bombardment of belief. This book seeks to identify and dismantle the shackles binding us. It is an attempt simply to break free.

About the Author

The last of five children for Veronica and Hansle Brown, Ansel Brown was born in the small remote community of Brandon Hill in Clarendon. He was an inquisitive child curious and questioning. A seldom painter and avid writer he took an early interest in debating and public speaking and excelled in these disciplines at his Alma Mater, Ewarton High School. An intuitive poet, he taught at the Lluidas Vale Primary School prior to migrating to the United Kingdom where he studied English Language and Psychology at City College in Birmingham. He has published four previous collections of poems; "The Wind Blows And It Stops," "Birthwrite," "Where Poetry Meets Girl" and "Life Cycle."

He currently lives in Lluidas Vale, St. Catherine where he continues to fuel his passion for writing.
