He’d beat her again leaving behind yet another bruise to try to hide, Taking from her, self confidence, worth and her pride. Why some would ask do you chose to stay, It’s not only you that effects, the price to pay. The aftermath is hurting your daughter as well, She to has memory and lives with that memory to tell. Watching as you receive each blow, How can she help she doesn’t know. It hurts her heart to see you cry, The guilt on her does it lie. She thinks because she can’t make it go away, That it is some fault of hers in some way.
