About the Book

The classics never get old. Those tales we read about in school all those years ago continue to amuse us , and warn us. They are, as Jerry Criteser says, " a well of cool water that never runs dry." His long poem about Medea has all of those ancient characters brought back to life in our own time. Between the Lines goes behind the curtain as the audience is watching the characters on stage. We can see and hear what is really going on.

The Saxon- Norman trilogy of plays sheds a little light on those Dark Ages, with a little blood, a little humor and a lot of dying.

His poetry ( he thinks of himself as a poet ) takes you to the planet Mercury with a "geeky" high school student, to his front lawn at dawn, to a couple of "dalliances " ... one in San Antonio and the other in third-century Rome. Helen of Troy is back again unavoidably, but fortunately, just for a brief mention. Enjoy.

About the Author

Jerry Criteser, currently retired from his real job, is now able to devote his time to writing ... when not reading, gardening, traveling or going to the Chinese buffet. He has traveled widely ( check small bank account for proof ) but has lived in his current home in East Alton, Illinois, for 33 years. He seems to write a great deal about the ancient world, medieval England ( maybe that's why he is an Episcopalian ) and space travel. He has a Bachelor's degree from Greenville College which is just about the best school in the country. He has lived with his partner, Alberto, for 18 years. Alberto has learned what " How does this sound ?" means ! Jerry's goal is to publish his one book. His heroes are Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and Harper Lee.
