April Wind
Right before my faith in love escaped
I saw your beautiful face.
When you said a word I heard a chord
and a note I didn't know I was waiting for.
No matter how far away I drag my heart
I can’t seem to pry my head from you.
I feel so weightless with you beneath my skin,
helplessly taken by the April wind.
When I fall into the gaps in my courage,
my silence is the sound it makes.
Though I hesitate I lie awake
thinking of how your lips might taste.
Time passes by as hopes become facts,
wonders lift their veil and reveal you holding back.
I can feel you doubt that my heart is steady,
but I will still be here when you are ready.

About the Book
In a world where our hearts are lined with a barrier made of the non-existence of expressions so meaningful that locks our true emotions inside, the contrast is the thick lines between our emotion on the outside. About the Author
I was sixteen the first time I wrote a poem, and It was a big deal for me. It wasn't until then that I didn't feel like I was always under some kind of unknown pressure. With my mother always slapping me in the mouth every time I said something she thought was stupid along with telling me to shut up and that I needed to think before I spoke, I eventually started to hold everything in. It had been eight years since I stopped speaking my mind and something needed to happen. I still can't explain it, but I do remember the amount of pressure I felt lifted off of me when I started writing. My first few years of writing were mostly me exhausting my anger. Then when I moved out of the house and started to feel independent, I finally started to feel comfortable acting like my own person. I stopped writing for years, but I recently started again and it feels even better than I remember. I feel like I am constantly maturing as a writer. I can feel it getting easier to express how I feel through writing. Looking back at myself as a writer I see an amazing difference between when I started, and where I am now. I consider this difference to be journey. I am proud to announce that I just started a series of poetry books called Where Fine Lines Exist and am extremely exited to show my writing to the world.
