Ava woke up a few hours later to the sound of him singing and his guitar. Ava followed the sound of the music and wrapped herself in her terry robe. She sat on the steps listening. It had to be something new. She snuck down a few more steps, then realized he had to be in the TV room. She sat and listened until the creeky step gave her away. “Okay superspy.” “Didn’t want to interrupt you,” Ava said sliding onto the sofa beside him. “Just playing around with something.” “I don’t know why you don’t just sing one on your own,” Ava commented. “I could, but something tells me the fans would rather hear him.” “Baby,” Ava said. “Except you.” “I love your voice, and I love his,” Ava said. “Nice save.” “You sing to me all the time. Why wouldn’t you let someone else hear it, other than just backup stuff?” “Maybe,” he said. “So what are you working on?” “Got an idea when I was sleeping.” “And?” “Got the tune, the lyrics are the hard part.” Ava took a look at them. She threw a little into them then handed it back to him. He sang through what he had. “Better,” Joe said. “Just needed an umph.” He threw a little more into it, then wrote out the rest of the music. “What about this part,” he asked. An hour later, they had it finished. “You are amazing. You know that,” Joe said. He kissed her. “You would have figured it out baby.” “Helps that I married the creative genius.” Joe pulled her to him and kissed her, then slid the guitar to his back. He slid it off and Ava slid into his lap. “Baby, I really don’t know how I ever deserved you,” Joe said. “Fate.”

Sue Langford - has a diploma in Office Administration from Humber College but her heart was always in her writing. She currently lives in the hills of Virginia with the cowboy of her dreams. She is a country girl at heart, is a country music fan, and dreams of moving to Nashville one day. Her theory was to always dream big, and it has definitely paid off.
