Home! Momentarily, the soft “mmm” sound in the word makes Ann feel safe and cared-for. Should she go home or not?
Six young actors, including Ann, tour the country in a children’s play called The Lost Princess. Ann makes the mistake of informing the tour owner about the unfair treatment of the women by the men and soon wishes she hadn’t. Her fellow actors, bullied by Denny, who fears Ann may disclose even more about the true situation in the troupe, try to boot Ann out by using the silent treatment. Ann considers leaving to escape her loneliness and anguish, but stubbornly wishes to stick to the tour to its end. For Ann, the consequences are frightening.
