On My Way

It doesn’t matter where it all began. We are in an active part of our lives right now whether we like the position or not. There is no such thing as a get rich quick plan. There is no millionaire or any other type of wealthy person waiting in the wings to give you his fortune. There is no person in the world with enough talent to have people in line to distribute money-just for being you. There is always exchange for goods in the world.

While it is true that people can reach any desired level we seek, we can accomplish any dream we have created; we must understand the real principle of efforts, sacrifice, and perseverance. We have to apply ourselves and keep in mind simultaneously what is real. Then we can begin to enjoy the fruits of our labors-success!

Let’s answer the first question……what is realistic? The answer is simple-anything. Whatever is dreamed or desired is real. It really is that simple. Part of reality is order. We simply need to understand order. Reality is order. Have you ever been in a situation where you things were so loud you cannot even hear yourself think? For me that is daily life, therefore I am almost forced on a daily basis to operate on an as needed basis. There are messes, arguments, dirty laundry, dirty dishes, and many other things that can be thought of that seem to stress most people. Heck, I have five children and my wife and I are both students as I work full-time. That is enough to choke a horse. However one may feel stressed just reading that, it is really quite relaxing. I am around children in my life. Therefore I am forced to think nothing but fun and use my imagination all day long. I often find myself on the way to a serious engagement for work and still thinking about the fun things of a child as it is typically one of the most recent items in my short term memory. I have no problem with that because I feel it keeps me connected.

What I need to keep in mind with that idea is that children are dreamers. They are the ones who can imagine it all and still think it to be possible. Adults are commonly guilty of ruining dreams in the name of reason and reality. What would happen if we didn’t exchange a dream for what we call reality? I vividly remember as a child having dreamed up a recipe for chewing gum. My mother never would entreat me with the opportunity to experiment with the idea. Thus I never knew that the recipe would or would not work. I also do not know what could have been a result of the effort. Chances are strong that the recipe would have very well not worked, but I might have been blessed with the mindset to trigger something else later down the road. Fast forwarding to my adulthood, I took a traveling job one time. My oldest was young, therefore my other children were very young as well. The apartment at which I stayed was a second floor apartment. I took my mountain bike with me to help the time pass in the absence of my family. One weekend my wife surprised me for a visit. When we got to the apartment my son saw my bicycle locked up to the gate on the rail upstairs. He immediately asked me if I rode my bike up and down the stairs. As I thought it was funny and giggled, I also was immediately reminded that a child sees all things as a real opportunity. As adults, we cloud and destroy that opportunity.
