About the Author
Marie Pierce Weber grew up in Merion, Pennsylvania. At six, a friend introduced her to the world of horses. By ten, she spent her summer days at Fairmount Stables cleaning stalls for rides.
In 1975, she became a horse owner and in 1982 began competing in distance riding. Her husband joined her in the sport in 1983.
In 1999, she and her husband spent seventeen days on an Equestrian Safari in Kenya, Africa. This was the catalyst for the trilogy: Missing/Marooned in Africe, Surviving in Africa and Living in Africa.
