“Drink me,” Christian whispered inside my thoughts.
And suddenly I really was his Alice—desperate to find a means to indulge in the Wonderland that was his blood. I opened my eyes with a ravenous fierceness to find that he was offering his pale hand to me. Fingernail-sized gouges oozed in the center of his palm. I reached for his hand and pulled him to my mouth, swallowing his sweet savor as though it were oxygen to my lungs. The taste of his blood in my mouth, rushing through my veins, roused me with an indescribable rapture. I was both weak and strong simultaneously in his arms.
“Stop,” he suddenly groaned, tearing himself from my flesh. “I need to stop.”
“No,” I begged. “I don’t want you to stop. Taste me,” I urged. “Have me,” I begged.
His breathing was heavy as he pondered my plea.
“Do it,” I implored, the flavor of him fresh on my tongue.
He grabbed my arms with his hands and sunk his teeth into my neck again, biting through my flesh as though it were Snow White’s poisoned apple. The pain was extraordinary. Blood dripped down my collarbone, overwhelming the tangle of cable chain from my necklace in a scarlet smearing. “Christian,” I sighed through my thoughts, lost in the painful pleasure of him upon me. He was more animal than man as he reveled in my flesh, sucking from me with a speed that quickly rendered me weak. Consciousness was fading, and soon I was little more than a drained corpse left to linger on death’s doorstep.
