In September
Fresh flowers are grown
From an ever-changing earth,
New vows are made with nature,
Fierce friendships were forged from
The fiery furnace
Of an infernal summer.
Inexhaustibly long days
And clear star-filled nights
Are never-ending,
Till they do.
The perfect bloom of ripening
Adolescence fades,
The first leaf falls,
Other fast-withering days follow,
Till beneath the tree
Where we stood, laughed, played,
Our entire sweet season
Lay
Withered. Gone.
The alarm of age and change
Can be heard for miles.
New students run out to look.
Old classes are exchanged
In
September.

About the Book
We live in a world that has lost its sensitivity. Its need for touch with meaning. Love is now essentially a primitive theme shrouded in many layers of modernity.
Likewise, this ancient form of soulful expression we call poetry, ails to find a home in the hearts and mind of the true lover of words, now an increasingly rare phenomenon.
This book was conceived with the aim of resuscitating both species; love of writing and simply love.
This collection is a timeless portrait of a universal theme.
A bold poetic leap that encompasses the differing and comparative types of love.
About the Author
Ansel Brown is a life-long lover of words and writer of poems. He grew up in the small quiet community of Lluidas vale in St. Catherine with mother, father and four siblings. After graduating Dinthill Technical High School he taught at the local all-age school before migrating to The United Kingdom where he studied English Language and Psychology at City College in Birmingham. He has previously published two collections of poetry: The Wind Blows And It Stops and Birthwrite. He currently resides in Liuidas Vale of St. Catherine Jamaica where he teaches private classes in English Language, sells his own books and continues to write poems.
