II. ROME, ITALY: (year unknown). There was a box made of acacia wood discovered among the great treasures from Solomon’s tomb. In the lower cellar of the Cat-Holistics great hall the small box was hidden for centuries until its discovery by a Roman cardinal and scribe. On top of the small box there was an inscription: כאן טמון חדשות טובות הסוד של ישוע נולד בנו הראשון של מרים ויוסף כפי שלימד אותנו על ידי מרי לוויה של טריכיי שלו The Cardinal Scribe was a student of languages and he recognized the language of the inscription. The inscription was an ancient form of Hebrew; the language of the Jews. The cardinal opened the box and inside there was a thick parchment scroll which was still in very good condition. The cardinal again looked upon the box at the Hebrew words written upon it and began to translate them: כאן טמון חדשות טובות הסוד של ישוע נולד בנו הראשון של מרים ויוסף כפי שלימד אותנו על ידי מרי לוויה של טריכיי שלו The Scribe translated the words as: Here lies the good news of Jesus of Nazareth the first- born son of Mary and Joseph written by his companion and disciple Mary of Magdala. The box was immediately taken before the council. The Pope commissioned the senior scribes and elders to study the parchment scroll and to compare it to the dozens of other confiscated Hebrew texts written concerning Jesus of Nazareth. One year later the church elders began to bicker among themselves concerning the authenticity of the scroll. The elders all believed the document was genuine. However, it was determined that the documents would challenge the theological doctrine of the church and undermine the church’s authority. In order to unify the church, the Pope gave an official decree. As with the other Hebrew gospels, the new manuscript would be transcribed into the Greek language. To ensure harmony with the other gospels, the Pope ordered the editing of the document. After the Greek version of the manuscript was completed, the original Hebrew parchment and all copies of it were to be destroyed. However, this was not to be…. Many of the scribes could not bring themselves to destroy their pieces of history and hid copies within their temples and within the archives of the Vatican. Hidden Secrets of the Vatican…Writer Unknown VATICAN CITY, ROME: 2010 Present day… A traumatized small boy sat upright and alone in a bed inside of one of the sleeping chambers of the Vatican right before the dawn. With a blank stare upon his face the motionless boy looked at the uniform that he wore earlier at the evening mass. As the expressionless boy sat he noticed a stain upon his uniform— a lipstick stain. With purple rouge upon his face one would assume the little boy was a participant in a Halloween party or pretending to be a clown. However this was not the case. Across the room, a shirtless distinguished older man sat alone at a table holding a glass of brandy. With a purple hue of rouge and lipstick streamed across his chest, the man began rocking to and fro as he read what looked like an ancient document or scroll. Suddenly the telephone rang. “Hello, is this Cardinal Vicente Solaria?” “Yes, this is he.” “Father, did you receive the scroll?” The cardinal responded that the scroll was delivered. “Father it is imperative that you read the scroll immediately. Many others were stolen and the world will soon know the truth,” the voice on the other end saith. “Is this document true?” the cardinal asked. “Yes Father, if this document was discovered it would undermine our authority and the world would rebel against us and against the Holy Fathers.” The cardinal asked the young man his name and if he was a priest. “Yes Father, I am of the priestly order. Father it is not safe for me to speak to you on the phone. I fear that your conversations are being monitored.” The cardinal questioned why someone would want to monitor his phone calls. “Father, please read the parchment now! If I do not contact you again, assume that I am dead at the hands of the church.” “I, I do not understand? Why? I mean… the church? Who would kill—” “May the Virgin protect you Father…” The young priest hung up the phone abruptly. For more than three hours Father Solaria continued to read the words of the scroll. He began to moan and weep. As Father Solaria’s hands opened the document fell to the floor. He could not read anymore. Father Solaria began to cover his eyes in shame and cried out, “This cannot be. This cannot be!” Cardinal Solaria looked over at the child within his bed and then dried his eyes. The cardinal leaned back in his seat and reached for the warm glass of brandy on the table. He held the brandy in his mouth without swallowing. As the brandy sat within, burning his tongue, the cardinal imagined the burning sensation was yet purifying him of all of the sins that he had committed; even the sins he had committed during the early part of the night. As the tears flowed from his eyes, Cardinal Solaria looked over at the bed again and swallowed the brandy. The priest began to recite the rosary and prayed. After his prayers ended, the priest drank the last of the expensive brandy. Cardinal Solaria opened a hidden draw within his desk and grabbed a small caliber handgun. As the cardinal placed the handgun to his temple, the motionless and traumatized child within the bed sat staring at his uniform. As the loud popping sound of the gun echoed across the room the small innocent child’s body jumped suddenly. The shirtless body of the cardinal fell quickly to the floor, and the eyes of the innocent boy finally moved from his uniform onto the fallen body of the priest. As the security officers began to flow into the room, the traumatized little boy who once sat motionless all through the night finally smiled. The body of Cardinal Solaria was removed from the room and taken to the Vatican hospital. The official cause of death was ruled heart failure and the Cardinal was celebrated throughout Rome. The other cardinals and bishops petitioned the Pope to name Cardinal Solaria a Saint. The ruling is still pending. As for the manuscript, the document was taken from the room and copies were hidden from the Vatican and given to other men of authority. He that has an ear let him come and hear the words of the parchment scroll. For it is the good news of Jesus of Nazareth, the first-born son of Mary and Joseph, as told by his companion Mary of Magdala and his true disciples. Amen.
