He stood up to stretch…and sat back down in the straight back chair he had earlier pulled out. “A long afternoon Megan. I want to be fair about this dear. If I tell McMaster what happened, you will lose not only your job, but your career won’t you?”
She finally found a small voice. “Yes Sir. I just…just want to say…that if I had to end my accounting career early, I am so glad I got a chance to work with you…and dinner…even dessert, was wonderful.” Head down, the young girl turned to head for the door.
CRACK. He had slapped his open hand down on the table to get her attention, the same tactic he had used so effectively earlier that day. She stopped in her tracks. “I said if young lady. I cannot let this action go….unless you receive some discipline. If I tell Jack, the discipline will be exactly as you say. But Jack is not the only disciplinarian Megan Kathleen.” He patted his lap sitting on the chair. “Come here, girl.”
