About the Book

My Quest is an autobiographical sketch of a common man who, plagued by schizophrenia and other problems, battles to gain (and sometimes regain) a life worth living--and to find deliverance from demons and enjoy ultimate redemption; a true account, an evolving personal profile and saga spanning 65 years plus.

About the Author

Ron Doyle, born in 1946 is a graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School (1964) and Ohio State University (BA’69, MA’71). Due to problems stemming from a diagnosed brain disorder, he had additional problems finding steady work in his field of geography and temporarily was employed by several companies including C.H. Heist in the 1971-73 period. He later enjoyed a brief career (1973-1987) as a facility location consultant/industrial geographer with a Cleveland firm in which he worked all over North America. In 1987, his brain disorder totally disabled him and he returned to the Valley. Thereafter, recovered some, he became a caregiver to his elderly mother until her death in 2007. He lives in Marietta and is sporadically writing an autobiographical sketch (for relatives and friends) about his continuing quest to live a life worth living, to find deliverance from his demons, and ultimately to experience redemption. He is active—low key, low stress—in the Catholic Faith, a way of life to which he has returned and which he has embraced in recent decades.
