As Jonathan continued, his face became red and swollen. Tears ran down his cheeks, as he poured his heart out to Zena. She stood paralyzed in fear, while hearing the piercing words he said to her, “How could you deprive your father from seeing his granddaughter? You think you controlled everything, don’t you? Well you didn’t. I sent pictures of us to your father. He has known about us for almost five years. Your father got a chance to meet Jacquelene, and made me promise not to tell you. Don’t worry! Jacquelene doesn’t know it was her grandfather. She thinks he’s a family friend. You were afraid to tell your father, I was a man without means. From the beginning, you lived a lie to prevent your dead mother from knowing you did not marry a wealthy man. You lived a lie and missed out. You did not give your father a chance to accept us. Perhaps, that has been our problem. You’re damaging secrets. I know about the money in your trust.
