About the Book

The interstate highway that bisects southern Missouri was to be an escape avenue for Detective Robert Lee James, leading him to a destination of leisure after toppling the criminal empire of drug lord, Gene King. To the contrary, what Robert James was about to witness on that dark and desolate highway was a spectacular event that would rapidly propel the detective into the most challenging investigation of his career. When attempting to seek the facts concerning this event, Robert soon discovered how insignificant his federal authority was when confronting the ghostly guardians of our nation. Paralleling these events, five hundred miles to the south Texas law enforcement authorities were responding to the horrific assault of a beautiful young woman, the daughter of Texas millionaire, Samuel Tyler. This gruesome crime scene was one that would even make a veteran police officer confused and squeamish. The only clue left behind by this unique woman was faintly whispered as her life was fading from her - “the Devil’s Elbow.” What common denominator do these two cases share? Join Detective James as his search for justice is nothing less than a search for the devil himself. This non-stop, action thriller propels you through the world of drugs, murder, political corruption and personal pleasures. This explosive story prompts author Ronald Long to request that you make this a weekend read, because once you start, there is no stopping until the final page is turned!
