About the Author

The Arthur was born on a mountain top in Washington County, Arkansas, within two miles of the original Leach homestead in Washington County, Arkansas. and has researched the Leach family history for over forty years. The family has traveled from Scotland in the 1600's to Germany then in 1706 to Maryland where they settled on the Potomac River twelve miles from Washington City ( Washington D C). My ancestors migrated from Maryland to Rowan County, North Carolina in the 1780's; then on to Tennessee about 1816. 1820 found Thomas Leach in Jackson County Alabama, then in 1830 Thomas was in Washington County, Arkansas, After the death his first wife Thomas Leach after remarrying moved on to Benton County, Arkansas, where he fathered six more children.
