This treatment workbook is written for therapists to help guide their clients throught the process of being more responsible in life, by abstinence from consuming any substance while operating a motor vehicle. This workbook can also be used by an individual who recognizes he or she needs help in this area, and can be used as a self help workbook. Many of the clients/readers of this treatment workbook continue to have serious problems with alcohol abuse and/or other substances, and they have a history of personal problems related to alcohol/substance abuse. The concept of the treatment workbook is to create change in the individual by examining their thinking, making chages in thought processes, and to help the individual make the right choices in life to live a substance free life or at a minimum to never drive intoxicated again.


About the Author

AUTOBIOGRAPHY Mr. Phillip Karpinski graduated Cum Laude from the University of Delaware in 1995, with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Minor in Philosophy. He is a member the Psychology Honor Society and a member of the Philosophy Honor Society, which was achieved by academic excellence. Mr. Karpinski was accepted into a doctoral program for clinical psychology, but choose to go into the field of Clinical Social Work, where he received his Master’s of Clinical Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 1999. Mr. Karpinski completed his first internship of clinical social work in 1996, working with Bridge Counseling where he was co-facilitating substance abuse group counseling. Mr. Karpinski is presently the co-owner of Evergreen Counseling in Las Vegas, and has been a therapist there for nine years. Mr. Karpinski has conducted over a thousand group counseling sessions for clients that have emotional or behavioral problems, and substance abuse problems. Mr. Karpinski has conducted over 10,000 hours of clinical counseling while working for Evergreen Counseling. Mr. Karpinski’s other achievements have included teaching martial over a 25 year span, nationally ranked as a martial arts competitor, winner of the black belt division at the Las Vegas Karate Championships, nominated to a Martial Arts Hall of Fame, owner of Modern Martial Arts, Jiu-Jitsu instructor for Frank Mir (UFC Heavyweight Champion), professional billiard competitor, winner of a national team championship in billiards (BCA), and world ranked by the Professional Pool Players Association.
