The Struggles and Growth of a New Believer

FALLING

Long nights of crying, worrying and grief
Satan had tricked me into disbelief
I prayed and had others pray for me
But relief in my future I did not see
I felt lost and as though I couldn’t find myself
I was slipping away and to God’s voice I was deaf
It all felt like a horrible dream
I was falling into sin again
But I’ve come too far to turn back now
I have to get myself together some way, some how
I asked God to forgive me for the sins I’ve done
I cried out because I no longer desired that worldly fun
I longed to be in the place where I felt my Father’s touch
I needed it, I wanted it, I desired it so much
I cried out “Lord, please return unto me”
He reached down and held me ever so tightly
Then He began to whisper in my ear
“Listen my child so that you may hear
I never left you in your time of need
I just waited patiently until you took heed
You are a child of mine and I will never forsake thee
As long as you truly repent of your sins and never curse me
So child take my hand as I command your storm to be still
And let me minister unto you of how to live in my perfect will”
