ANdReW’s PoeM He is the marine fi ghting for those who do not know. He does not fi ght for the glory, but the freedom we love so. A family is never ready to face what he has to endure, but he is ready to die for what he is fi ghting for. To us, he is known as hero who fi ghts without asking for fame. He fi ghts beside his brothers and sisters who gladly do the same. You may not know the reason he does what he must do. He is there because he is an American. He is fi ghting for me and you. Dedicated To Andrew Whitacre After Life I‛m just a man with an anonymous life waiting to go through the tunnel of light. I am unkown and there‛s a lot I don‛t know. I never been one to go with the fl ow. Roses are red. Teardrops are blue. After I die, death is coming for you. I hope you fi nd peace in the life that comes after. I hope you never hear that demonic laughter. Flames burn forever and there‘s no escape from Hell. I hope you don‛t buy what the world has to sell. Here in the after where you are like me, there is only one place you are destined to be. The Greatest Poet You’ll Ever Know I just pissed away another damn day. I don‛t really have much I want to say. I just want to groan and cause others to moan. I don‛t even have a place I call home. This is my fate: writing poems you hate. Maybe I started a little too late. I do what I do and then I am through. I am not any worse nor any better than you. Read what I wrote. Get in the boat. Let‛s go down the river and see if we float. Let‛s look up into the sky. Let‛s try to fl y. Let‛s try to do something before we all die. Crack open my book. Take one little look. Pull up a seat and throw your coat on the hook. When you are done, you‛ll see it was fun. You will know then that I am the one. That‛s all I had to say. I know it sounds gay, and this is the end of another damn day.
