About the Book

Who killed pharmaceutical and business tycoon David Johnston? Why would someone kill him and then try to go after his wife Dee Dee who never had any knowledge of her husband’s business and extra- curricular investments? What was the motive? Rage? Jealousy? Revenge? It was unfortunate fluke that the day David Johnston met his demise that his wife just happened to be at his office suite in time to witness his murder. Scared and distraught, she would flee for her life only to be chased by the individuals whom she saw shoot David. Little did she know in her haste she would be hit by a car by the very people who would help her find the killers. Being a prominent citizen with social standing, Palmerton City authorities form a task force to protect her and to find out a sinister plan of greed, hate and deceit. The task force consisted of four men and a woman. Mark, Jim, Mina, T.J. and Lt. Bill Sorenson tap into David’s investments only to find meticulous and well documented dealings. Land deals dominated, especially one in particular, many of which David partnered with others. Who were those prominent names? Was David’s death a result of a deal gone bad, or a disgruntled employee?

About the Author

My name is Shellee Evans. I am a reading teacher and a tutor. I focus on students' reading needs. Writing is a part of what I also teach to my students. One day I had a picture in my head which progressed in a story line. It was so strong that I had to write it down. Before long I had four chapters to the book, Palmerton City Mysteries: 'Day Star' Investment Scandal. When I finished the book, other ideas came for possible sequels. This book was completed in 2009 and this is the first chance I had to get this one published. Since then I have 5 other manuscripts just waiting to be published as well. I love to read. My favorite genre are mysteries that capture the attention of the reader within the first paragraph. That is what I tried to do with my book. I was born and raised in the Spokane, Washington area. There I met and married my husband. In 2004, my family and I moved to great state of Colorado. I have three children and hope to impart my love of books on to them.
