She had been a freshman when she met Jack. They were both competing for the same advanced performance classes. They had been sitting in the hallway, waiting for their numbers to be called. No names were used; of course, the class placement protocol stated that it was to be conducted as a blind; with only the proctor knowing who was which number. She sat there in awe. Everyone knew Jack. All the professors said “hi” or spoke with him as they passed in the hall. His father had done his undergraduate work at the college and everyone said Jack was the spitting image of his father. She listened with interest as he seemed to know almost everyone and spoke with them all. She was becoming more and more nervous as the afternoon went on. Then, just as she was beginning to think the afternoon would never end, Jack came over and introduced himself. Startled, she looked up from the pile of music she was studying and it promptly fell from her lap to the floor with a large thud. Her face glowed a brilliant red from embarrassment. Jack knelt down, picked up the music and handed it to her. Everyone was watching.

About the Book
She was raised on a farm in rural Wisconsin. She received a scholarship, left her family and the farm, to pursue the career she had longed for. She had a plan, goals, hopes and dreams. Then, just as her college life is beginning; Jack, a handsome, brown-eyed musician, walks into her life and she will never be the same.
Her life becomes a whirlwind of classes, practices, work, and rehearsals. She makes time for Jack, weaving him into her hectic, busy life and then just as she is about to believe that she and Jack will be together forever, John, Jack’s brother brings her disturbing news. The one thing that the ‘little voice’, in the back of her head, had always nagged her about was coming true.

About the Author
Louise was born and raised in rural Wisconsin. She is a former teacher turned writer after an accident forced her into early retirement. Louise enjoys reading and used that love and her many life experiences in writing this, her first book.
She and her husband live in Wisconsin, splitting their time between their home in the city and their cabin ‘up north’ on the lake.
