use same material as first version ----------- I came up through the manhole and left the lid slightly ajar. I looked around and didn’t see anybody. I now stood at the fence wearing my railroad outfit directly behind the grassy knoll. I had my sniper rifle loaded and in it’s camouflage sock leaning against the fence. The roar of the crowd began to intensify. People started crowding the sidewalks straining to get a closer look. I could see the motorcade making the left hand turn that would bring them right down in front of me. I pulled the sock off the rifle. My mind drifted back to when I was a boy shooting pigeons in the rafters of the barns. I hunted pheasants in the vineyards of the family winery. I loved John F. Kennedy, why were they making me do this? I could still get away. I could run to some place where no one could find me. I could miss on purpose. The rifle had a silencer on it and no one could hear the shot. I didn’t have to go through with this. The motorcade got closer and closer. Time was in super slow motion now. I could feel the energy of the people and their excitement. I could feel the sweat rolling down my face and then realized it wasn’t sweat I was crying. A row of motorcycles passed in front of me. I put the rifle to my eye. I could see the limousine carrying the presidential party. I could see the Governor and then the president. I had the President of the United States in the cross hairs of my scope.
