THE TRUTH SOURCE In September of 1954, a disc-shaped object streaked out of the Russian sky, scorching its way deep into the frigid soil two-hundred kilometers southwest of Tobolsk. Following a frenzied paperwork shuffle and several strident phone calls, a Red Army detachment, accompanied by a KGB �observer�, was dispatched to the crash site�� - Sully and Kat Mildauer, 2017... ...But yes- there it was. And it was unlike anything Sergei had ever seen. It was clearly a huge disc; amazingly, it appeared substantially intact-apparently untouched by the violent impact, and almost completely buried. Probably only the topmost third remained aboveground. Sergei sniffed. There was a strange odor in the frigid air. It smelled like ozone- hot electrical wiring- but there was something else, too, like meat being roasted: pig, maybe? And did he smell burnt hair? He couldn't tell for sure... A STROLL IN THE PARK Martin was two miles away from home and ten feet underground when his family was butchered. His vision had proven oracular; construction workers had put the finishing touches on his secret hideaway scarcely two months before the Big One rocked the world. Ironically, the bunker was designed to house four people in nominal comfort for ninety to a hundred days- hopefully long enough for Martin and his family to formulate an escape plan after the financial tsunami he�d predicted. But, he�d just listened to their dying screams real-time� sitting at his desk in the very shelter he�d designed and built to save them! THE BLIND WATCHMAKER � Dr. Baylor believes �time� is a consequence of Man�s fall from Grace. In Chapter Four, Baylor suggests that mortality- time�s most poignant manifestation- was born when an entity called Itoh abandoned the celestial realm for Earth, to battle Neko�s minion, The Serpent� known as Satan in Judeo-Christian theology. Neko is Itoh�s opposite, and his departure produced a celestial imbalance, thereby warping the Cogwheel. �As I said, Dr. Baylor implies that the existence of the physical realm would be impossible without cosmic evil. This is an incredible statement! It forces us to consider� well, for one, some immutable, universal requirement for the suffering of all living things- and by extension, even for death! With Itoh gone, Neko was unbound- and her dark appetites were unrequited. Hence, the Cogwheel warped and began to wobble- to rumble and whine. The fundamental requirement for our existence, and all that we know, was fulfilled. Why? I shall explain.�

About the Author
Jayson “Jay” Walker was born at what some call the “end of the world” in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. For twenty-six years, Walker has worked with cutting-edge, high-performance experimental aircraft. He enjoys writing and recording original music, painting, and reading. He currently lives in rural Maryland. This is his first published book.
