HOW DO I KNOW WHAT MY TALENTS ARE…?
Ask yourself these self-examining question(s):
Prayerfully ask God:
• What am I good at?
• What do I enjoy doing?
• Has the Holy Spirit given me peace about what God has called me to do?
• Do I encourage others to help build the body of Christ?
Once you do an examination and pray over this……..God will help reveal this to you.
Here is the hard part……..Wait on God to reveal this to you by circumstances, or in his word, or he just puts the knowledge in your heart where you know that you know.
• Psalms 130:5-6 I wait for the lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say , more than they the watch for the morning.
• Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.
• Psalms 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
• Psalms 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Another way to help assist in this answer is simply doing the following: read these (5) passages and understand there common interest is staying in church being a part of the fellowship of God. Being a part of God’s people trying your very best to live according to God’s statues and commandments. Really trying, meaning if you are living outside the will of God you get down on your knees repent and turn 180 degrees from that direction(s), no fooling yourself. True repentance is making change. James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. “So you see you are to be in church to pray and confess you sins one to another, not watch church on TV be there in person to consult and confess your sins one to another and lift up each other in prayer because as it is written the prayer of a righteous man availed much, well who is a righteousness man…..the man that does not forsake the assembly. Let’s look at another reason why you should be in church Thessalonians 5:11 wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. What this means is to comfort and lift up on another helping each other out any way you can, example it may be as simple as a one day a week car pool or allowing a neighbor to borrow a chain saw instead of having to rent one, and maybe they will take you out to dinner for the kind dead. Then read this 1st Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. In other words, once you have discovered your gift you should be in the world sharing your “gift-of-grace” with others, and even at individual homes if necessary. Notice the bible is absolute here every man, not just a few or some men…….that is all men! AMEN! Come on now get on board with me here……..AMEN! Lastly just so you know…….Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. What this is saying is do not error brethren…….here it is…….crystal clear you are to meet in person in the assembly to be an encouragement to one another. Can God make it any clearer for you than this? If others see you consistently, it is an encouragement that you are dedicated to worship the Lord. It helps all the assembly, and I have found unbelievable friendships and blessing and help along the way. God’s knows in his infinite wisdom you need the fellowship of the brethren. I am a shy and a bashful person who is very introverted (like to keep to myself) but if you will allow God to work on you from the inside out…..you will be amazed at what God can do with your own individual shyness and bashfulness……what…..he can actually change you…..no way…..yes way….baby steps but he can do it. But you have to do your part……what is my part on the shyness……..pray and believe and ask God to help you take the 1st step within your own church…..maybe it’s just going out to dinner after Sunday Service……but it helps eating with a small group of people from your own church it works…….even if you are all eating at a Pizza place it develops relationships……God is an incredible God. Sometimes talking to the brethren you can discover a need or talent in an area you have not though of……?
Sometimes for health purposes you cannot actually attend the assembly…….this is understandable, but once you are healthy enough to attend go down to the alter and thank the good Lord for the “health” to attend his assembly, God is the great Physician and he can cure any illness, but there is an active part you should partake of ……remember when Jesus healed 10 lepers, only “one-out-of-ten” came back and thanked Jesus……Never forget this………the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away!
