About the Author
As an already registered writer/author of 29 songs via the Library of Congress, and a recognized singer/author of 3 songs registered via Ascap, having submitted works of Poetry to Poetry.com, The Society of Poetry, and the Library of Congress, the mentioned organizations have bestowed on my person a well deserved award on June of 2007 in the city of Las Vegas Nevada, in recognition and participation of their programs. As a person who likes to dream and think of making my dreams come true, I believe that I qualify as a writer due to the feedback that my critics gave to me after reading and analyzing my songs, philosophical comments, the recognition, and registered works in the mentioned institutions from as far back as the March 8, 1999. The Verb, Nature, and the word of GOD are beautiful things to write about. To intellectually describe what I perceive via all of my senses and to be able to transcribe it to the written word, qualifies my person as a writer. Born in the United States Virgin Islands to Puerto Rican parents Anna Gautier of Vieques and Antonio Vega (deceased) of Culebras Puerto Rico, I am honored to be of the bloodline of Jose Gautier Benitez, the 1st poet recognized by the Government of Puerto Rico in May 31, 1879 when he won with his Poem “Puerto Rico” in an Association of Literature “De Ateneo”. The proud parent of a daughter Clarrissa Edith Vega a sailor in the U. S. Navy married to Michael Fuzy the 4th (also a sailor), Edwin Gautier Vega is now a proud grandfather to Michael Fuzy the 5th and Antony Jacob Fuzy, 5 and 2 years of age respectively. A former law enforcement officer, sculptor, visual artist who's paintings portray “The Christ”, lyricist of Salsa, Blues, Gospel, and other styles of music in English and Spanish, I, Edwin as my ancestor Jose Gautier Benitez did, also writes to Puerto Rico with all my heart, re: “Puerto Rico of my soul, of my bloodline, of my fathers’, today your a son a Gautier I asks of you, that to your beaches, you permit me to return”. I dedicate this book to the memory of Carmen D. Vega (deceased sister in-law) who I in life I called my big sister. My brother Luis Vega's now deceased ex-companion. I further dedicate this book to my mother Anna, my sisters’ Auria, Virginia, Miriam, Lucy, Segunda, and brother in-law Felix Ortiz, and nephews and nieces, friends and family all who have been instrumental in assisting my person to arrive in the publishing of this my first book, "THE QUESTION".
