About the Author

Dr. Maynard has a BA and M.Ed. degree in art education from Wayne State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Studies in Behavioral Disabilities, with emphasis on Rehabilitation Psychology and Gerontology. Her publications included over fifty articles in professional journals, several book chapters, and books. With work experience in the fields of occupational therapy, mental health, gerontology, continuing education, she retired as a full professor and now devotes her time to creative writing, the arts, and teaching. Dr. Maynard is a National Board Certified Counselor and Gerontological Counselor, and American Occupational Therapy Association Fellow. She has served on numerous national, states, and community boards, and has international and national consultation experience in mental health, rehabilitation, and gerontology education. Her current writings focus on spirituality in the mature years, life transitions, and ascension of human consciousness.
