They say time heals all wounds ... they're wrong. The emptiness is still there as are the guilt's. The passing of time has not lessened either. Some people need the fancy cars and homes to feel good ... that's not me. Don't ask me to explain it. I probably couldn't. Once I thought money was where it was at. Now that I have more than I could spend in two lifetimes I know it's not. My name is Kirk ... Kirk Crane. I'm big. six-two the last time I was measured; maybe more now. To look at me you'd think I was skinny. You'd be mistaken. I'm two hundred and sixteen pounds of bedrock muscle. I can kill with guns or my hands and, I have. What I'm trying to say is I'm not the type of person you would want to have a confrontation with. My friends, what few there were, found this comforting. My enemies, and there were many, did not feel the same.

The hard thing is not knowing what you want to do ... the going back and forth with indecision. This was not my problem ... I had made my decision ... I knew what I was going to do.
About the Author
Steven Granson had lived most of his life in Manhattan. There he experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of this unique city. Today he is retired and living with his wife Susan in South Florida. Other books written by him include Reveries and Observations of an Old Man and Some Call it Justice.
