Wanting to have a child, a dream she had since she was a little girl. Lisa finds she has a medical conditon called Polysystic Ovarian Syndrome, which is a hormone condtion that can lead to infertility. She marries young and thought she had enough time to seek Fertilty treatment and get pregnant. At age 36yrs. old she decides now is the time to get aggressive. She tries fertility medications and then I.U.I, which is intra-uterine insemination. Neither avenues are successfull. She finds there are medical condions that will not allow her to be pregnant and carry a baby. She is now 40yrs. old and not pregnant and decides she must try Invitro-Fertilization. In the course of preparing for IVF she also finds an even worse condition. Her Fertility Doctor and Lisa are in total shock when he told her she has cancer of the uterus. She is told she must have a hysterectomy and is totally devasted. The only way to have a baby would be to use a surrogate. Ironically she sees an Oprah show about a clinic in India that does IVF and Surrogacy with success. She and her husband decide to go on this journey to India excited at the thought of bringing home a baby in nine months. The Quest Begins... Lisa Dixit was born in Boston Mass. Lisa wants to have a child; it has been her dream since she was a little girl. Although she was diagnosed at a young age with polycystic ovarian syndrome, a hormone condition that can lead to infertility, she married young and believed then that she had enough time to seek fertility treatments to become pregnant.
At thirty-six, after years of trying and failing to conceive, she decides the time had come to get aggressive with her treatments. She attempts fertility medications and various treatments, but to no avail. Her medical conditions would not allow her to become pregnant and carry a baby.
Desperate, Lisa and her husband, Al, elect to try in vitro fertilization—only to discover that she has uterine cancer. She has a hysterectomy to save her life, but now having her own child suddenly becomes an impossible dream.
Then, Lisa and Al learn about the possibility of using a surrogate mother. Lisa happens to catch a television show about a clinic in India that focused on IVF and surrogacy with success. Using this information, their quest for parenthood truly begins.
