Before reality caught up with her, from the corner of Callie's eye she captured in startling view the suddenly fast impending vehicle she had spotted and used as a distraction. Only now could she decipher it more clearly. A large battered Chevy with a one-horse trailer hooked to the back came blazing dangerously at them. The driver was unmistakably on the wrong side of the road. Callie was glued to her seat in horror, amazed at how fleetingly fast it had reached them. Utterly unexpected. When she remembered to speak, she shrieked "Noah, look out!", but it was too late. By the time Noah whipped his focus ahead -slamming the brakes in a bone shattering grip- the only thing Callie experienced next was the impact of collision, the shattering of window glass shards, the tipping of the ford and the horse trailer-scraping adjacent to the road. Following a deafening neigh and the warm rush of blood in her veins before her head hit the dashboard and a world of frightening darkness swallowed her up.

About the Book
Silver Creek Ranch, nestled in Natrona County, Wyoming, and all its horses mean the world to Callie Marshall. She couldn't imagine living anywhere else and believes that a life without horses is no life at all.
Callie's world erratically falls to shambles when a drive back from town turns horribly wrong. Struggles in facing with the aftermath send her into a flurry of confusion, but she refuses to give up on searching for her lost memory.
Callie also tries to locate the mysterious disappearing horse that managed to escape at the scene of the accident. With so much to deal with and her about to finally graduate high school, Callie fights to discover herself again and clings to the one thing she'll never lose: horses... Only to find more than she had lost.
About the Author
Claudia Monteiro loves writing and has had a poem, and two short stories published. She has loved horses all of her life and is inspired to write about them for horse lovers just like her. Claudia has a deep interest in natural horsemanship, has been riding for six years and lives in London, Ontario with her parents, two sisters and one brother.
