About the Author

About the Author Emma died from heart failure in 2000. Linda Gannon was a psychology professor at Southern Illinois University from 1975 until her retirement in 2006. Although she has published books and articles in her professional discipline, this is her first book written for a general audience. Dr. Gannon currently lives in rural southern Illinois with Willow the Weimararner, Thoby the orange cat, and Oliver the gray cat and many wild lives.
