About the Book
Wes Blake is the aging general manager of a struggling hockey team. In desperation, he goes to the end of the earth to find John Terry, the perfect goaltender, a man capable of carrying the team on his back and turning their miserable season around. He indeed accomplishes this goal, but at a terrible price. The Champion, the fourth novel by J. Rye Erixon, tells the twisted, tragic story of John Terry, a man bred for hockey greatness - and driven to madness.
About the Author
I am a 42 year old physician and this is my fourth self-published novel. I published Angel's Milk in 2004, The Strip Mall in 2007, and Especially for You in 2009. My books are hard to categorize, but most likely fit into the horror/suspense genre. I have tried to create original plots with philosophical undertones. I am currently a full time physician, and writing for me is more of a hobby. My goal is to someday write a novel that is read and enjoyed by many people throughout the country. I believe that The Champion, my current novel, will accomplish this goal. I was born and raised in New York, and I have an awesome family, which includes my wife Melissa, and my 3 children - Samantha, Jack, and Alex. And by the way, the Jets are the best team in the NFL.
