"If it's not breathing does that mean it's dead" is a metaphor for how we go about our days doing the same tasks, expecting new results and trying to resuscitate non working issues. As a matter of fact I think that may be the definition of insanity. We get up everyday trying to breathe new life into the same old issues by the same old methods. Animals seem to know exactly when something is no longer needed and they move on to complete another task. Animals evolve based on their environment and they change locations based on needs. If an area offers minimal food or shelter, they go to where those things can be provided; they don't stay for the sake of staying when they know there are other options. Sometimes they aren't sure if there are other options but they use their natural instincts to go find out. Humans somehow get sucked into doing the same things day after day, month after month then do a full time job of complaining because we haven't seen any growth...My Canadian-Ukranian gem, Steve, has a saying that just makes good sense. He says that doing the same things over and over and expecting different results is like wiping your behind on a wheel. BINGO! Sure it may sound funny but it is as basic as one can get to seeing the truth of one's actions. Your butt will never get clean if you are wiping it with a wheel as it keeps going around and around. Aha moment, huh?
