Sports Talk Radio Is A Waste of Time (And so is This Book)

Even when I was a Laker fan, Kobe Bryant was not one of my favorites. I don't know him personally. He might be one of the nicest people on the planet and I hope that is the case. Either way, what I think of Bryant means nothing. who am I to judge? However, as a basketball player, I consider him one of the best of all-time. When I rooted for the Lakers, Bryant was included. I wanted him to take the big shot. I wanted him to score 40 every night. I wanted him to do whatever was necessary for the Lakers to win. And I had no problem with him calling Shaquille O'Neal out on the court. One of my favorite moments was being at a Lakers-Wizards game when Michael Jordan was with Washington where Bryant took the ball coast to coast and slammed it home as His Airness could only watch. Even though I don't root for the Lakers anymore and don't want Bryant to hit the game winner he still gets full credit from me. Now, I don't want the ball in his hands at the end, because I know that he can beat the team I'm rooting for. But whenever he steps on the floor, I want to see Bryant go for 40. I fell asleep the night that he put up 81 and still regret it. It was basketball history and I missed it. He may not be one of my favorite people, but the man can play. Period. Bottom line. You have got to respect that.
