Appreciate
One of the strongest urges in human nature is the desire to be appreciated.
Appreciate Yourself:
Since the dawn of creation until now, there has never been anyone or anything created just like you. In a special way, you help to complete Infinity—you are that important. Your unique character and the way you express spiritual qualities are divinely valuable and beautiful. Throughout your life you have shared your talents and gifts with others. Your true essence is amazing, whole, and intact, and despite all the seeming detours and setbacks you have experienced, you are on a pathway to reveal more of this incredible essence. You may call the path spiritual growth, evolution of consciousness, or salvation. It may feel like a birthing process or a challenging adventure. You have faced considerable odds, and you are to be honored for your journey thus far. All you have been through and overcome has made you deeper, richer in experience, and, fortunately for you, perfectly prepared for what lies ahead. Up to now, everything has been perfect to bring you to where you are today.
If you are like most, your relationships have been challenging at times. On one or more occasions, you may have been slandered, criticized, lied to, stolen from, forsaken, rejected, let down, or disrespected. At times you have struggled in loneliness and fear; you have had to figure out difficult things and survive through pain and failure. You have had to give when you were tired or sick, move into unchartered territory in a job or relationship, and risk the unfamiliar. After feeling unsuccessful or hurt, you somehow found it within yourself to get back up and try again. You have faced thorny challenges with family members and friends; in social circles, religion, politics, and health; and with the ongoing struggle for money. In your own way, you are a warrior or a heroine. You have journeyed valiantly and have not given up.
Somewhere inside of you, you know there is something better, something deeply rich, calm, powerful, and free. Yes, you are spiritually amazing, wonderful, and beautiful, even if your nature occasionally seems to be tarnished by life’s circumstances. Perhaps your life path, for all that it has delivered to you, and for all you have given it, is calling you to appreciate who you are and what you have come through with total self-acceptance and love. In this way you can more easily build on what has already worked for you. Appreciate who you are and what you have become, not in comparison with anyone else, but in consideration of all that you’ve faced and surmounted.
Attract
When we see Divinity in ourselves and others, we become more attractive.
Attraction & Repulsion:
Contrary to popular belief, relationships do not really attract opposite qualities. Energetically, we tend to attract others who are like us in consciousness. Our thoughts and character radiate outward like a tower that transmits radio or TV signals. Others tune into what we are transmitting. The ones who are sending out similar energy waves find themselves drawn towards us. Our thoughts and actions broadcast more than we think, and they include our desires, values, beliefs, fears, intentions, and choices. When we are feeling, thinking, and acting from our hearts, it is easier to awaken and connect with the hearts of others.
Forgive
Forgiving brings strength and buoyancy, because it means ‘giving up’ that which weighs us down.
Forgive Yourself:
Forgiveness will free your own life energy and support your expansion of consciousness. Yet, until you see your own life with compassion and acceptance, you will find it difficult to be gentle and compassionate with others. You may feel tempted to reject yourself for mistakes and shortcomings. You may not like the way you look, how smart you are, how much money you earn or save, or what kind of parent you are. You may not like what you have made of your life so far. Perhaps you are unhappy about your morals or laziness, how muffled you are in speaking the truth, or several less-than-perfect choices you have made. If you are like most people, you have had feelings of guilt, shame, remorse, or self-judgment that followed your unproductive behaviors or errors. Nonetheless, if you focus on your shortcomings, life may feel self-defeating. So, how can you find a more supportive view of yourself?
Everything you did and said, put up with, or did not say or do happened within a context of how well-equipped you were at that time, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. You were born human and fallible, not completely animal-like nor angelic either. Perhaps you are on a journey, moving from a survival-based mentality and towards one that knows Divinity at a deeper, experiential level, Divinity as you. When you consider your capacities, environment, genes, and background, you are probably doing the best you can with what you have. So, forgive and accept yourself for what you have become so far. If you do, you will be in a much better place to move forward. If you don’t, life will seem more difficult dragging around the past. You, and everyone else, are love expressing itself in the best way you know how at this time. In some, the light of love shines through more brightly, but this light and potential comes from the same Source and is fully in everyone.
