About the Book

A group of students travel to a local Renaissance Fair and discover an ancient tome called the Book of Power. Upon opening the book and reading a single line of text, it transports them to another world called Midaria.

This fantastical world, ruled by both magic and technology is embroiled in a power struggle between a group of freedom fighters and a powerful usurper king. The young travelers suddenly find themselves caught in the middle of a war to posses the Book of Power and the secrets within, including the truth behind one of their own.

About the Author

Hello, my name is Hugh Martin, thank you for picking up this book. As this is the back cover… it reveals absolutely nothing about the story, so don’t try to infer any spoilers from these words. If you happen to be the sort of person who tries to spoil the end of the story by peeking at the last few pages, you won’t get anything that way either, just an uninteresting introduction to the villains of the story and a cliffhanger ending. But, enough of that. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I live in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan on an island in the middle of the Detroit River which serves as the border between the United States and Ontario, Canada.

When I’m not writing books I’m usually reading them, my favorite authors include Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy, J.R.R. Tolkien and Brian Jacques. I also enjoy watching movies like Star Trek, Indiana Jones, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. On the off chance you’re wondering what exactly gave me the idea to start writing the answer is simple. After reading through Fellowship of the Ring for the second time, I suddenly had the idea to write my own story. I spent the next seven years putting together various ideas but never wrote anything down. Finally some friends of mine told me to “just do it” and I started putting pen to paper, the result of which you are now holding in front of you.
