The Gospel writer John chooses to mention Nicodemus at three critical points of his narrative. It is Nicodemus who hears the words of John 3/16, and it he who handles the crucified body of the hoped-for redeemer of Israel. Nicodemus lived under the terror of Rome and the writhings of Israel struggling to remain a people of God. I have attempted to weave all the gospel stories into one coherent, plausable story of a man who live to testify of the power of God, Nicodemus.
