About the Author

In order to know how to write effectively, students must know how to spell words correctly. Being an educator for over 8 years and observing students writing and spelling, I have learned that it takes time and patience to teach students how to become successful spellers.

In recent years, I’ve had the urge to help children with their spelling skills. I felt writing this book might serve that purpose. In preparing to do so, I read quite a few books on How to Help Children Learn to Spell.

Like many books on any given subject, some have been very stimulating and helpful and others less so, at least in connection to the purpose of this book. Unlike other books on the subject, my book provides a thoughtful, easy-to-read strategies for students to become successful spellers.

Such as,

  1. Writing the same words four times and use the word in a sentence
  2. Playing fun spelling games
  3. Using Flashcards
  4. Covering the word and saying it in their mind
  5. Read books, newspapers, magazines that contains many new words
  6. Create a spelling dictionary
  7. Learn to proofread your writing

I also tutor elementary students in several subjects and I emphasize the importance of spelling correctly.

I feel excited to be involved in a career that allows me to help students succeed in their academic goals.
